Nenad gave a lecture to the 4th-year students of the Ruđer Bošković Technical School
Nenad gave a captivating science lecture to the 4th-year students of the Ruđer Bošković Technical School. The lecture was part of the project “Innovative Microscopy Protocols for Interdisciplinary Research in Biomedicine,” and focused on the theme of motors in our bodies.
While motors drive cars and many other machines, helping us in our daily lives, a significant question arises: What powers our bodies and enables movement? It has been discovered that our bodies contain motor proteins, molecules just tens of nanometers in size, which convert chemical energy into mechanical work. The coordinated action of numerous motor proteins generates various forces within cells, including those in muscles.
In his lecture, Nenad aimed to explain to the students the origin of the forces produced by motor proteins and demonstrated how these tiny motors are organized to drive diverse biological processes.
