Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship awarded to Shane Fiorenza

The project proposal “Using first-principle modeling to study multipolar mitotic spindles in cancerous cells” – TRIPOLES, submitted under the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions by Shane Fiorenza and the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, has been accepted for funding.

The European Commission will allocate €260 million for 1,249 project proposals submitted to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call in 2023. This year’s success rate for applications is 15.8%, with the highest number of projects being funded in social and humanities sciences (25.2%), biological sciences (21.7%), computer science and engineering (13.3%), chemistry (14.4%), and physics (11.4%). The projects will be carried out in 45 countries worldwide by scientists representing approximately 80 nationalities. In the field of physics, a total of around 150 projects have been accepted, with three coming from researchers at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Faculty of Science.
